GRATITUDE

I wanted to let you know that I eagerly await your Blog each week. Your sharing historical background with political and social context of Biblical times greatly enhances my understanding of the scriptures. Learning the original meaning of words in Greek and Hebrew can be a real eye opener. You help make the Bible come to life and be relevant in today’s world. We so need that.

Thank you for all your hard work
— Barbara S

Your presentation on the Ten Commandments has been and continues to be so helpful.  I’ve watched it 3 or 4 times and each time, more inspiration comes.  Thank you for your conference calls, and handouts and all.   The definitions of terms you include help so much, as do the articles, etc. Kathy, your dedication and love enrich and help “deepen" my study and understanding, and help me to help others.  So grateful for all you do,

Ellie W.

I wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude for all your time and expertise sharing insights on the lesson each week. I have become a student of Christian Science since I retired from teaching. You have been such a big help to my growing understanding of the Science of Being. The conference calls, handouts, Q &A’s, suggested articles are wonderful! I am learning so much about the Bible and Christian Science. It is a big help to have the conference calls recorded because I take notes and can go back to catch an important idea that I missed the first time. This week the talk “ Under the Shadow of the Almighty (Defending our Children)” really spoke to me as a teacher and mother if five children. I am so grateful that you had healings of fall beliefs. I had one last year the day after Thanksgiving. I was taking down Fall decorations and preparing to switch to Christmas ones. I seemed to trip and crash into the door jam. My son took me to the emergency room because my arm appeared broken. I was told that I needed to go to a surgeon to have a operation to set it. I studied and prayed all weekend. On Monday the surgeon took another x-ray and said the arm was back in place and just use a sling for a while. Then exercise it to maintain range of motion. When I thanked him he said, “Don’t thank me. God does the healing.” Love and fellowship 🙏

Barbara

At the end of your talk this week you asked for feedback on how you’re doing. Can I just say you’re amazing. The time you spend doing research, coupled with your first hand experience in the Middle East, and your background with your sister are unmatched. I’m so very grateful to have found you (in 2019/2020) and have the ability to have my lesson sermon enriched by your insight. (Not to mention being able to meet you personally at the Clarkson village church.) I’m working daily to discover new things on my own, before I listen to your talk, and then see how what I’ve done complements or  it’s different than what you have found. The links to the Journal and Sentinel articles are great, your research sections are very helpful as are the illustrations.  You have taken me from casually reading the lesson to honestly studying it. I know that’s what you were looking to do.  The more of us that search and ponder the scriptures the more healing that’s going to happen and the larger our churches will grow. Thank you for all you do.

 Debbie H.

Dear Kathy,
Thank you so much for your dedication and love.  What you share each week in your talk and handouts provides new inspiration and helps me understand and therefore apply the truths in the lesson.  I return often to truths you have shared over the years and find them inspiring and uplifting.
Thank you so much for your helping hand.  It makes such a difference.
With gratitude and love,
E

I find listening to your Bible lesson conference calls very inspiring.  The information you share has deepened my understanding of the history of the Bible, and your spiritual insights help to illuminate the Christian Science Bible Lesson. The Handouts are also very helpful and interesting. I have seven grandsons between the ages of 7 months to 7 years who visit often, and love Bible stories. I do appreciate the children's ideas on the blog page.

With love and gratitude, Peggy D.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all you to do to further our education on the Bible.  I appreciate hearing another ask about italics in the Bible and you steer us how to seek the answers on our own (just as you did for me to look up an article on JSH-Online – which I registered for and did!).  It is true, teaching a man to fish is better than giving him one.  Here’s another question from me: do you know of a way to learn the order of the books in the Bible?  I began marking my books again 4 years ago and still have trouble remembering where even the most frequently used ones are! Best of all, I like listening to your recorded talks online because I can back it up and listen again if I miss something I didn’t get the first time.  Your talks are reaffirming as well as enlightening and encouraging us all to serve the movement more.

Love, Patty

Thank you Kathy for your talk on Nehemiah, for it is one of my favorite Biblical books. Your talk on this week's lesson was particularly relevant because I never related the subject to a fall I had on Tuesday which I am working to overcome, so I immediately read both of your testimonies too. Once again you touched my heart as we all seek a  higher understanding of Truth. I also appreciate your comment about spending time on TV programs that aren't spiritually minded. My husband and I discontinued our television service which has made us both more productive as we prepare to move.

Patty H.

Thank you for your support!

In response to feedback and survey, Kathy was encouraged to launch this membership to help support her continued work on the blog each week, as well as offer weekly recorded talks and Q&A sessions. Kathy started her blog in 2016, after the passing of her husband, Gregg. She was working full time and started this blog session as a tool to help her teach the Bible to Christian Scientists of All Ages. Shortly after, she began offering live Conference Call sessions 5x/week for over 5 years. During that time, the blog and weekly Conference Calls were an offering of Love and Kathy was determined that all the material should be free to anyone that was interested.

However, keeping up this relentless schedule of multiple live talk sessions per week began to take a toll and Kathy felt she had so much more she could share with her growing community. She didn’t have much time to devote to going deeper into subjects she loves like The Tabernacle, Sermon on the Mount, The Beatitudes, Mary Baker Eddy’s Early Workers, etc. While she absolutely loved supporting the Christian Science community and preparing her offerings each week, she realized that she has so much more to share.

Kathy began to pray about an answer, and it came to fruition last year, that she should retire from traditional work so that she had more freedom and independence to produce the content she is passionate about. With the help of her daughter, she was able to expand her platform to offer membership subscriptions.

By purchasing a membership subscription, you are helping to support Kathy’s continued work. Kathy was overwhelmed with donations in the past that helped her continue to pay for email services, website and conference call platforms, etc. But now, your membership directly supports more content. Because of your support, she has been able to now commit to her website full time. She is so grateful! She is currently preparing much larger offerings like virtual workshops on the Bible as well as an eCourse (Bible 101 coming soon!).

Please note that she works on her website on her own. Her daughter is able to help support her with technical issues and marketing a few hours each week, but currently, she is a one-person staff. If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, Kathy would love to hear from you at louryn4@gmail.com.
